Day 3 of the Season

Eureka Downs completed another day of non-parimutuel racing on June 12th. With the help of horse racing fans, hard working volunteers, and the horseman, everything went very smoothly.

The first two races were thoroughbred races . The first race was going 4 furlongs and was won by Regal Indian. This horse is trained by local Jose Ibarra and owned by JK Running horses. Regal Indian was ridden to victory by David Hunt. The time on this race was 47.1. The next race was also going 4 furlongs, in a time of 47.4. Thundering Saracco was the winning horse, with Trainer Joe Thomas and owner Longton Explorations from Fredonia making their way to the winner circle. Jockey Manual Vasquez was in control of the reins on Thurdering Saracco.

Race 3 was going 330 yards and was won by Snow Kan, owned and trained by Donald Davidson. Jockey Manuel Vaszuez was again taken to the winners circle to have his picture taken. The field of 4 horses completed the course in 17.58 seconds. The remaining order of finish: One High Lady (Hunt/Hunt/Burkhart), Cashews Kid (Wade/Rutland/Lindsey) and MC Wake Up Call (Melson/Davidson,Arguilera). Race 4 on the card was a group of 2 year old maiden horses running 250 yards. The winner was Myas Gale, ridden by Gary Wade, owned and trained by Jake Eck of Goddard, KS. Myas Gale rane the distance in 14.23 seconds. In this race, jockey Manuel Vasquez was unable to hold Sea Hunter in a straight line and the horse was disqualified and placed third. This horse interfered with the racing of Stormy Corona.

Race 5 brought another group of 2 year olds running 250 yards. The winner, My Paparazzi, ridden by David Hunt, and trained by Sue Hunt was victorious. My Paparazzi completed the course in 14.06 seconds.
